Ever since I saw this book on HarperTeen’s website, I’ve
been dying to read it. So when I finally got it and read it right away, I’m sad
to say it was a disappointment.
I really wanted to enjoy this book. The plot of this book is
great, it was the main thing that appealed to me in the first place, but it’s
kind of a disappointment when it was the only thing that was good in the whole
300 pages. The other thing I liked other than the plot was Taylor and Bridget’s
relationship. I found it cute and sweet.
Max is the inventor of Ex. Inc., which is a company that help
girls get over their ex quickly. My first problem from this book started from
her. I found Max to be annoying, immature. I could not relate/connect with her
whatsoever, and for me, it really hard to like the book if I don’t like the
main character.
I like multiple POVs, and this book was written in third person
with three POV (Max, Ben and Taylor).
However, with this book I was easily confused when there was a change in
the POV. I had to reread a paragraph to figure out whose POV it was, which
brought down the rating down even more.
All in all, the writing, the characters, and everything
about this book except the plot were flat for me. I just wasn’t connected with
the book at all. I wish I did, but I didn’t.
Rating: 2/5

I'm sorry to hear that this book wasn't everything you expected it to be. I was actually planning on reading this book, but I think I'll wait a little while until getting it.
Great review! I liked that it was really honest. (:
