Kate Winters has won immortality.
But if she wants a life in the Underworld with Henry, she’ll have to fight for it.
Becoming immortal wasn’t supposed to be the easy part. Though Kate is about to be crowned Queen of the Underworld, she’s as isolated as ever. And despite her growing love for Henry, ruler of the Underworld, he’s becoming ever more distant and secretive. Then, in the midst of Kate’s coronation, Henry is abducted by the only being powerful enough to kill him: the King of the Titans.
As the other gods prepare for a war that could end them all, it is up to Kate to save Henry from the depths of Tartarus. But in order to navigate the endless caverns of the Underworld, Kate must enlist the help of the one person who is the greatest threat to her future.
Henry’s first wife, Persephone.

Warning: this review might contain spoilers for those of you who have not read the first book.
I read The Goddess Test couple of months ago and fell in love with it. The character, the story, the author, the aspect of the Greek Mythology, you name it, I adored. My hopes were really high for Goddess Interrupted, and I’m happy to announce, it did NOT disappoint.
Goddess Interrupted start with no filler and it kept getting better and better. I really enjoyed learning more about the characters and the Greek Mythology. In The Goddess Test, Kate was this strong person who doesn’t accept people telling her what to do but in this book, I found her stubborn/resolved yet weak. I loved her determination. She loved her family that she’s willing to sacrifice herself for them. However, I don’t blame her for being weak; she went through a lot and knowing that she’s her sister’s replacement and that everything -even before she was born- was decided for her is hard thing to accept. I related to her more in this book than I did when I read The Goddess Test.
Goddess Interrupted was an emotional roller coaster for me. When I think everything is settled with Kate, Henry and the council, something unexpected happens. While reading, I felt like I was there, like I was in Kate’s shoe and my heart broke for her. I loved Henry, but in this book he not only broke Kate’s heart but he broke mine too. I was frustrated with him; I wanted him to see what’s in front of him rather than chasing a ghost. I was not too fond of Henry in this book—not for the most part of the book anyway.
I gave this book 4 because of two things. First because there was part of the book that was kind of slow for me. And the second, I really would have loved seeing more of Henry (the Henry we saw at the end) than more James. Even though I like James and he’s honest with Kate, I didn’t like him putting doubts in her head.
On a side note: I noticed some people talking about the cliffhanger at the end, and they didn’t like it. I actually loved it because now I will have something to think about, and something interesting to come back to when the third book comes out. I so badly want the third book, you have no idea.
Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this series. It is an amazing series that will leave you carving for more.

I haven't read this series yet, but it sounds so intriguing! I love those covers (those deep blues and greens and the serious look on the girl's face); it's so nice that the content actually matches the cover's prettiness for once, hah. Nicely reviewed, SG. :)

I also felt really sorry for Kate - Henry really did annoy me. However, I liked that we got to see more James and I'm one of the people that did not like the ending.
Great review! :)
